Sneaky peak time again

Good morning.  Well the sun is out, but there is a nip in the air, so it seems a good day to get tucked away in the craft room.........any excuse really!!!.
Anyhow, I thought I would share another of my samples for Sheena's new oriental range.  Yes, it's a box again.  You know I love making boxes, but this is the first time i have used acetate on one.  It was quite a simple one, as the papers I used on the side (from Sheena) were quite busy anyway, and I didn't want to loose the effect of them.  (Sorry photos are not the best).
The paper mâché box is painted in emulsion, all 4 side a mat and layered with gold mirror card and the papers, with ribbon tucked behind.  Gold card candy were in each of the corners.

For the lid, centura pearl was distressed with fired brick, faded jeans and brushed corduroy (using the colours from the paper), and blended.  Using one of the branch stamps, I stamped multiple times using Stayzon. Once I was happy, I then faux bleached some area, just by taking a damp brush and removing some of the distress ink.  This adds shade to the image and lightens areas ( my favourite technique at the moment).

I then stamped some lanterns onto heat resistant acetate, embossed and added glitter to them.  Once dry I turned the acetate over and used brads to attach to the faux bleached background.  Some ribbon was added to the outside of the lid, and some embellishments added to the ribbon and corners of the lid.

I hope you like it and get to see this and all the other Inkoids fantastic samples on Create and Craft over the weekend.

Don't forget to check out all the other Inkoids blogs, just follow the links from Sheenas blog.  Anyway back to the craft room

Sneak peak

Hello.  Well I have exciting news that I have to share.  Sheena Douglass will be back on Create and Craft on Friday, Saturday and Sunday!!!!!!!!!!.  Yes, 3 days in a row.........showing you all a new Oriental collection, but not just stamps, oh no, there are also backing papers and embossing folders!!!!.  Wait until you see them all, they are fantastic.

Now my first sneak peak is using the stamps and embossing folders.  This is a large card and using clear embossing powder I have stamped the leaf image on to the base of the card, mat and layered and then distressed centura pearl card, and added some bling using primary pigments, followed by a spritzing of water.  Once fully dry, I have stamped the images, and using the primary pigments coloured the lanterns.
On the other side of the card, I have used the lantern embossing folder on black card stock, then waxed over the top with silver, again some mat and layering, then 3 larger lanterns added and coloured with primary pigments.

I cannot wait for everyone to see this new Oriental range.  Don't forget to watch.

I will be back tomorrow with another sneak peak.

Big hugs Caroline xxx

2nd day of Christmas

Hello again.  I just thought I would show you another sneaky peak for Sheena.  Don't forget to tune in to Create and Craft on Monday at 9am and 3pm to see the lady herself showing you some fantastic demos.

This is another box of mine.
The box is painted in emulsion and then the edges distressed with Broken China.  The stamps a from Sheena's Little Bit Festive range.  The images are stamped and then embossed. A bit of masking had to take place to extend the village scene, and then the whole image was coloured using H2O's.  the snow at the bottom of the image is acrylic paint, and glitter was added to the mistletoe. A greeting was added and some snowflakes were die cut and ace behind the greeting.  Some holly was stamped and coloured with H2O's and then added using 3d glue.
Some clear gems were added around the edge of the lid. Ribbons and an embellishment were added around the side of the lid.

Around all four sides of the box the "Let it snow"stamp was stamped in Broken China, and the sides distressed.  Two snowmen were stamped, embossed and coloured in H2O's and added.

I hope you all like this box, as it was a challenge.
Thanks for stopping by.  Xxxxxxx

It's Christmas!!!!!!!

Hello.

Well, it's not Christmas yet obviously, but the countdown has begun, and in 110 sleeps time, that special day will be here!!!!. To just try and get you in the mood for making some cards, even though summer has only just finished, Sheena will be back on Create and Craft on Monday, sharing some Christmas ideas with you.  Please tune in at 9am, and 3pm to see her fantastic demos.

Here is my first sneak peak for you.

I think this would make a great present.  The box is made using Christmas Visitors and Mistletoe, from the Little Bit Festive stamp range.

The main image of the robin on the box lid was coloured using Copics, and then cut out.  Mistletoe was stamped around the edge of Neenah card, coloured with Copics and then distressed with Fired Brick.  The robin was glued using Collal.  The holly at the bottom of the image was glued on and after matting and layering then glossy accents was applied to the holly and the robins red breast.  Ribbon was attached to the sides of the lid, and an embellishment applied over the join.
Again mistletoe was stamped and coloured on the sides of the box and sentiments too, and matted and layered as the lid was.

The mistletoe image was stamped onto tissue paper, which covered the candle I made, using the same image as the box.

This was again coloured with Copics and heated onto the candle.  A ribbon and embellishments were attached to the bottom.

I hope you all like this, and keep an eye out for some more sneak peaks.

Have a good weekend.

Crazy 9am show

Wow, wow, wow!!!.  What more can I say???.  So pleased everyone is loving Sheena's new stamps.  As you could see they are defiantly magical.  I bet you will all be stalking the stamp now, waiting to get your hands on them.  Can't say as I would blame you can they are fantastic.

I wanted to do a masculine card suing the stamps, which I hope I achieved.
The background is distressed using black soot, and peeled paint and walnut stain distress ink.  I then applied luminart pourables with a sponge to give a more blended and twinkling effect.  Using the corner stamp (my favourite) I stamped it four times with Versamark, and applied a distress embossing powder to create the background.  Brads were added for effect, some straw twine was wrapped around it, and the Matt and layered.  The bird and branch was stamped and coloured with Copic pens,  the berries had glossy accents applied, and then using Collal 3D glue stuck to the card.  But, underneath it I applied some small pieces of the straw twine to make a little nest.  The sentiment was embossed and matted and layered.

I hope you like the card.  Don't forget to watch Sheena at 4pm.  I believe more stamps have been arranged at the multi discount price on advanced order, so if you missed out this morning, hurry and get them ordered, because they are a bargain at that price.

Take care. Caroline xx

Sneak peak number 3

Hello again.  Well, tomorrow is the day when Sheena will be bringing you her fantastic new stamps....A Little Bit Magic.  I cannot wait to see all of the other Inkoids samples on the telly.  Luckily, I am on holiday from work this week, so I will be glued to the telly at 9am and 4pm.

Today's sneak peak is a bit different for me.  This is a glass frame that's found in a supermarket and I heard it shouting out "BUY ME", so obviously I had too.  The outside 2 corners are stamped with white Stayzon, and then using pebeo outline and paints, I have coloured the leaves and roses in.  The cream frame is stamped and then embossed with gold WOW powder.  The picture is created by doing alot of  the masking technique.
I started off by stamping and masking the leaves at the top of the picture, then stamped Honesty, then made a mask for her, stamped the doorway after I had masked her off, then stamped the smaller bricks and then stamped the piles of leaves on the floor. PHEW!!!!!.  I then began the process of colouring the picture, using my Copic pens (yes I do love my Copics).

Anyway, you will hopefully be able to see this better tomorrow on the telly with all the other samples myself and all the other fab Inkoids have made.  Ohhh, and not forgetting the lady herself...Sheena.

Take care, and have a good evening. Caroline xx

Sneak peak number 2

Good evening.  Well, as promised here is another one of my samples using Sheena Douglass new stamp range called A Little Bit Magic.

I have made this box by painting it with emulsion, distressing the edges with Black Soot.  The brickwork was created by masking and then adding the doorway.  These were coloured by using Copic pens.  The brickwork was then glazed with Glossy Accents.
I stamped the roses and coloured them the same colour as the door.  Glossy Accents were added to these.  Then I used leaves, pearls and owl from my stash.  It's was then matted and layer using gold mirror card and a dark paper from my stash.  The ribbon was added around the edge of the lid and then a flower added to cover the join.
The sides were again made by using the gold mirror card and dark paper.  I stamped onto the paper and embossed using gold powder.

Don't forget to watch Create and Craft on Thursday at 9am and 4pm.
Thank for stopping by.

Sheena's sneak peaks

Hello my crafty friends.  Well I hope you are all ready for Thursday when Sheena is back on Create and Craft with some brand new stamps from A Little Bit Magic range. These stamps are amazing.  I cannot tell you enough how much you will love them.

My first sample is from the stamp set called Honesty.

The background has been stamped numerous times with a corner stamp off the set, and embossed with WOW powder.  I have stamped the 2 sizes of roses numerous times, as I have the leaves (which are off another of the stamp plates), and coloured with Copic pens.  Honesty is also coloured with Copics.  I have used shrink plastic to make her bouquet.  The roses and leaves are raised around the outside of the oval by using collal glue.

I hope you like her, and I will be posting a couple more samples tomorrow

Thanks for stopping by.

Christmas is here!!!

Good morning. No, I have not gone mad, but Christmas has come a few months early.  It's all because there is a Christmas event on Create & Craft / Ideal World.  I have been lucky enough to play with some of Sheena Douglass new Christmas stamps...........WOW, is all I can say.
Here is one of my samples.

I have water coloured the main image with Tim Holtz distress pens, and the cinnamon sticks in the bottom corner too.  The heart background is also a stamp from the range which I have used to make the background, as are all the greetings I have used at the bottom of the easel.  I used Rusty Hinge for the background and distressing.

Sheena is on Ideal World today at 11am, and 3pm.  Don't forget to get your mulled wine and mince pie watch her live.

Will be back later with more

Sheena's samples

Hello.
Sorry I've been a bit quiet for a few days but me and my hubby have been on holiday in the Peak District.  We are campers, but it's the first time we have out the tent up when it's windy, hailing and then snowing!!!!.  Yes snowing in May.  Even though the weather was not kind to us the whole time, we did have three sunny days, and even though the weather was testing, we still had a fab time away.

So, I thought I would have a break from the mountain of ironing, and share all my samples that I did for Sheena's last stamp release.  These stamps are just amazing, and if you have got them, I hope you share all your creations with us.

I don't now if you are aware, but Sheena has a DT call out!!.  Yes, us Inkoids are definitely after world domination (hehehehe), so Sheena is wanting 2 mo lucky people to join us.  If you are interested have a look on Sheena's Facebook page, and also the other Inkoids page and the info is there, asking for 3 samples and preferably using Sheena's products.  Go on, give it a try.  We are a great bunch of Inkoids, and look forward to working with the lucky couple.  We do have a lot of fun.

Anyway, here are all of my samples.

Well, must go and conquer this mountain of ironing.

Bye for now

A blingy sample

Hello, hope everyone has enjoyed the show so far today.  I thought I would share this one I did using the Hibiscus stamp, luminart pourables, heat resistant acetate and gold WOW embossing powder.
I stamped and embossed onto the acetate and then using crystal lacquer, luminart pourables and some tissue paper I made this caught in crystal. I left it overnight to dry and then cut the flowers and leaves out.
It's hard to get the bling across in this photo, but it's definitely there.

Don't forget the 3pm show today
Bye for now

Sneak peak number 2

Hello, here is my second sample to show you.

This is from the Hibiscus stamp plate.  The picture does not show it vey well, but the flowers and leaves are coloured with luminart pourables.  I initially distressed the paper using Distress Ink, and then apply the pourables with a damp sponge.    Using black pearl card, I embossed it with an 8 x 8 folder and the raised areas I have applied gold wax to.

Thank you for stopping to have a look.

Hugs Caroline xx

Sneak peak number 1

Hello.  It's been a while but I'm back blogging.

I am sharing my first sneak peak of Sheena's new stamps which will be on Create and Craft on Saturday at 10am and 3 pm.  I am in love with these stamps, and the new clear rock a blocks.  They make stamping so much easier now, and I don't think I will use anything else now.

Anyway back to the stamps. As you can see I have used the Lily of the Valley stamp plate.  There was a lot of masking with this card, but I thoroughly enjoyed making it.  The image is coloured with Copics, a grand spellbinder nestability had its edges distressed with peeled paint.

I hie you like it, as with this one I wanted it to look quite clean and simple.

Keep your eyes open for more sneak peaks.

Thanks for stopping by.

Sneak peak number 3

Tomorrow is the day when Sheena launches her new stamps on Create and Craft at 11am, and 7pm. I will be watching with a cuppa tea and a digestive in hand.

Here is my last sample before tomorrow's shows. I decided to go clean and simple with this one. I have used centura pearl and silver mirror card and stamped the sentiment in archival. The wings are stamped onto acetate with Stazon, and then I covered the whole of the acetate in dries clear glue and added Glammer Dust glitter to it.

Hope you like it, and don't forget to watch Sheena tomorrow.

Thanks for dropping by

Sneak peak number 2

Morning!!!!!. Well what a difference a day makes, glorious sunshine yesterday, dull and wet today. At least when the weather is like this it's ideal for crafting.
Here is another sneak peak of Sheenas new stamps which will be launched on Friday on Create and Craft.
I have used elements from three of the stamp set (Oak Tree, Wings and Ironworks).

The tree is stamped using Walnut Stain Distress Ink, and the edges distressed with Vintage Photo. The grasses are stamped with Peeled Paint and then blended with water. Ok, I confess, they are not really grasses, but I've used the tips of the wings to create the grasses. I have when spritzed overhead image with water, and then with some Gold Pearl Glimmer Mist.
The Ironwork corners are embossed with WOW embossing powder.
Matted and layered onto Centura Pearl, and then the frame is cut from Spellbinders Grand Labels One.

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you all have a lovely day. Xxxx

Sneak peak number 1

Good evening.
I hope everyone is well and looking forward to Friday when Sheena is back on the telly with some new stamps. OMG they are just fab, and if work hadn't got in the way, I would have made tonnes of samples!!!!. My head was a buzz with ideas, but time just got the better of me in the end, but I will get the ideas made into cards.

My first sample is a bit different for me.......it's a tag!!!.
I have distressed the tag with Salty Ocean, Peeled Paint and Spiced Marmalade distress ink. I have then spritzed it with water and Kiwi Perfect Pearls mist. I have then used stamps from a couple of sets of the new stamps. The wings have then been stamped and cut out(using same inks etc as the tag) and stuck on with collall 3d glue. I have gone around the edge of the tag with gold paint dabber.

Watch out for some more sneak peaks tomorrow from myself and other DT members.

Take care xx
