Its the weekend!!

Finally the weekend is here, and now I have done the grocery shopping, the rest of the weekend is mine to craft.  My Humphrey christmas stamps and cd rom were delivered yesterday, so I think he is going to take up most of my time.

I thought I would share with you a card I made this week for my friends little boys birthday.

The easel card is made using spellbinders labels 8 die, and again the matting and layering was mage with using this die.  The check paper is some I found in my stash.  The stamped image is from Lilly of the Valley, which I then coloured with Spectrum Noirs.  I distressed around the edge of the stamped image using faded jeans.  I attached a sentiment to the base of the easel and 2 button (martha stewart punch).

I am gradually getting used to blogging, and I think I am soon going to start taking place in challenges.

I hope you like this card, and thank you for stopping by to say hello.

Hope you all have a great weekend.

Humphrey

Good afternoon. I just thought I would share with you a christmas card I made earlier today. I used a Humphrey stamp that was free with a magazine.  He is just sooooo adorable, and I cannot wait until later when I can order him from Crafters Companion.
I created an easel card by using grand nestabilitie Labels 23 and I also stamped the image on this nestie.  I coloured the image with spectrum noirs, used glitter on the bottom of the image, and then using faded jeans distress ink to create the sky.  The paper was from my stash.  A marianne die was used to create the poinsettia, and heart pins I got from my local craft shop.  Finally a MS punch was used as the easel stopper and ribbon tied on it.

I hope you like this, and thanks for stopping by.

Take care and big hugs Caroline xxx

Ruby, ruby, ruby.

Morning!!.  Well its a wet and windy Monday morning in Lincolnshire which makes it the perfect day to make some cards.
I thought I would show you a card book I was asked to make for a Ruby Wedding Anniversary present.  It took 12 hours to complete, and there are many photos.  I was given copies of the original wedding invitations, orderof service and newspaper clipping.

Behind the 40 is the original invitation
I left blank mirror card spaces for them to put photos in from their anniversary party.  I then made a box to keep it in.

Thanks for stopping by and for following me.

Christmas in September.

Hello everyone, sorry I've not been active on my blog, but we have been away in windy Norfolk in a tent!!.

I thought I would share with you my first christmas card.  I brought this stampendous stamp this morning and could not wait to get into my craft room and play.
The snowmen are coloured in using spectrum noirs, the edges are distressed with tumbled glass, as is the base paper. Also around the edges of the snowmen layer I applied glitter glue.  I used a snowflake mask that I embossed using core card stock and then sanded to reveal the snowflakes.  The sentiment is from Little Claires.  The snowflakes are die-cut using marianne dies, then I applied champagne versamark ink on them and ultra thick embossing powder.  Then just to finish it off I found some ribbon out of my stash.

Thank you for stopping by.

Morning, I'm back !!, not that I have been away, but I don't seem to have had 10 minutes to get on my blog (or anybody elses), but this week I intend to make time!!!.
I hope everyone is well, and busy making cards.   I am determined to start my christmas cards in the next couple of weeks, else before you know it the decs will be going up and still no cards made!!.  Ooooops.
Anyway, here is a card I have made using one of my favourite stamps.
I just adore this penny black stamp.  I have used it numerous times, and everytime I get a request to make a card with this stamp it just makes me smile :-)

Thank you for stopping by.
Have a great bank holiday weekend, and if you are going away I hope you have nice weather.

Hello.  I hope you are all well, and staying safe.  Why, why, why people are causing trouble like this I dont think we will ever really know.  Anyway, here in South Lincolnshire we are away from all the riots, and the farmers are busy combining, while I am busy working and trying to get my commissioned cards all done in time.  The next thing on my list is to start making christmas cards, but I never seem enthusiastic in starting them when the sun is shining!!.  Is anyone else like that???.

Todays card is not a christmas card, but one my Nan asked me to make for her Great Grandson.
Its an 8"x8" card, that I matt and layered using DCWV paper from my stash. The LOTV image is stamped on card that I have die-cut using a spellbinders nestabilitie, and again matt and layered this.  The image was coloured in with promarkers (before spectrum noirs), and distress ink used around the edges.  I used a Martha Stewart punch to cut out the buttons, and then fed string through them.  I then die-cut his name and age out of chipboard, and coloured it.

Thank you for stopping by and saying hello.  Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Anniversary

Hello, I am sorry I have not been about for a few days, but things have been a bit hectic, and then we went away to Manchester to Old Trafford to see Johns beloved Manchester United.  We had great seats to watch Paul Scholes testimonial match, and even I enjoyed it!!!!.  I got John the tickets to celebrate our 10th Wedding Anniversary.

Talking of anniversaries, I am sharing this card with you that I had to make for an order.  Its a 55th Wedding Anniversary card!!!!.

I used white pearl card and silver mirror card.  I used grand nestability 11 to get the shape of the card.  The numbers are from the cute companions range and then green and silver glitter was used to colour them in.  A martha stewart punch was used for the stopper on the easel and then I used my cricut to cut out congratulations.  I then added die cut hearts and some flowers.

Thank you for stopping by.

Take care xxxxxxx

Mixed bag!!

Hello hope you are all well.  Today here in Lincolnshire its been a mixed bag of weather.  Blue sky and the sun out this morning, cloudy this afternoon, then stormy sky, heavy downpours and thunder.  So this afternoon was the perfect time to sort out my new favourite crafty goodie...........my spectum noirs!!!.  I love them already, even though I have not had much time to play.
This Molly Bloom was my first attempt with them. It is easier to create more shade with them.

I like to be organised (well in a fashion), so my hubby, John has made a storage unit for my aquamarkers, promarkers and spectrum noirs.  I am sooooo pleased with it, and finding the colours I need is so easy.  I even have a few spare holes for if any more colours come out.

I thought I would share a card that I made for our friends wedding anniversary in July.
Its a LOTV stamp called "The Little Things" which I coloured in using my promarkers.  I distressed around the edge of the image and as you can see matt and layered, with foundations paper, and another one from my stash.  I used a Martha Stewart punch along one edge of my matts, and I thought the pearls just finished it off.  (sorry the photo is on its side).

Well I must go and get practising with my speccies.   Bye xxxxx

Sunshine

Well the sun has decided to appear at last, and lets hope it stays for a while.  I don't know about you, but when the weather is nice, it just makes you feel happier.  For my second post I thought I had better put a card on for you to see.  You will soon see that I am a stamper.  It is  very unusual for me to make a card that does not include a stamp.  I just love the fact that you can do so much with them, and also they are such good value for money in the long term.

This card is made using a LOTV stamp called "Me and My Pony".  I love these stamps, they stamp beautifully and such a joy to colour in. The base is 8" x 8" cardstock which is the size I seem to be using at the moment.  I used Promarkers to colour the image, and distressed the edge with walnut stain.  The papers are G.C.D - Ella Blue which are one of my favourites at the moment, and again the edges were distressed in walnut stain, and then mat and layered. The sentiment is also LOTV, and the flowers are some from my stash.  I hope you like it.
Bye for now xxxxx

Hello and welcome to my first ever blog !!!!!.  I have been thinking of putting a blog together for a few months, but have never plucked up the courage, but today I took the bull by the horns and here I am.  I hope you will like some of my cards, and keep coming by to say hello and hopefully, through my blog I can meet some new crafty friends.
