Hello again

Hello.  Well I thought it was well and truly time to get back into blogging, so here I am.  Its not been a very good week for me, so I needed to do this to take my mind off things.  I cannot wait to get back to doing this on a regular basis this time I am going to enter some challenges.  For my first post I thought I would show you something totally different for me.

I painted the Darice box in emulsion, distressed the edges with vintage photo ink, printed backing papers and decoupage from Jane Shasky cd, matt and layered the backing papers and again distressed the edges with vintage photo, and then using my cricut cut the letters out.  I put it all together and finally added some card candy.

I hope you like this and I look forward to hearing your comments.

Take care and thanks for stopping by.

Its the weekend!!

Finally the weekend is here, and now I have done the grocery shopping, the rest of the weekend is mine to craft.  My Humphrey christmas stamps and cd rom were delivered yesterday, so I think he is going to take up most of my time.

I thought I would share with you a card I made this week for my friends little boys birthday.

The easel card is made using spellbinders labels 8 die, and again the matting and layering was mage with using this die.  The check paper is some I found in my stash.  The stamped image is from Lilly of the Valley, which I then coloured with Spectrum Noirs.  I distressed around the edge of the stamped image using faded jeans.  I attached a sentiment to the base of the easel and 2 button (martha stewart punch).

I am gradually getting used to blogging, and I think I am soon going to start taking place in challenges.

I hope you like this card, and thank you for stopping by to say hello.

Hope you all have a great weekend.

Humphrey

Good afternoon. I just thought I would share with you a christmas card I made earlier today. I used a Humphrey stamp that was free with a magazine.  He is just sooooo adorable, and I cannot wait until later when I can order him from Crafters Companion.
I created an easel card by using grand nestabilitie Labels 23 and I also stamped the image on this nestie.  I coloured the image with spectrum noirs, used glitter on the bottom of the image, and then using faded jeans distress ink to create the sky.  The paper was from my stash.  A marianne die was used to create the poinsettia, and heart pins I got from my local craft shop.  Finally a MS punch was used as the easel stopper and ribbon tied on it.

I hope you like this, and thanks for stopping by.

Take care and big hugs Caroline xxx

Ruby, ruby, ruby.

Morning!!.  Well its a wet and windy Monday morning in Lincolnshire which makes it the perfect day to make some cards.
I thought I would show you a card book I was asked to make for a Ruby Wedding Anniversary present.  It took 12 hours to complete, and there are many photos.  I was given copies of the original wedding invitations, orderof service and newspaper clipping.

Behind the 40 is the original invitation
I left blank mirror card spaces for them to put photos in from their anniversary party.  I then made a box to keep it in.

Thanks for stopping by and for following me.

Christmas in September.

Hello everyone, sorry I've not been active on my blog, but we have been away in windy Norfolk in a tent!!.

I thought I would share with you my first christmas card.  I brought this stampendous stamp this morning and could not wait to get into my craft room and play.
The snowmen are coloured in using spectrum noirs, the edges are distressed with tumbled glass, as is the base paper. Also around the edges of the snowmen layer I applied glitter glue.  I used a snowflake mask that I embossed using core card stock and then sanded to reveal the snowflakes.  The sentiment is from Little Claires.  The snowflakes are die-cut using marianne dies, then I applied champagne versamark ink on them and ultra thick embossing powder.  Then just to finish it off I found some ribbon out of my stash.

Thank you for stopping by.

I'm back!!!!!!

Morning, I'm back !!, not that I have been away, but I don't seem to have had 10 minutes to get on my blog (or anybody elses), but this week I intend to make time!!!.
I hope everyone is well, and busy making cards.   I am determined to start my christmas cards in the next couple of weeks, else before you know it the decs will be going up and still no cards made!!.  Ooooops.
Anyway, here is a card I have made using one of my favourite stamps.
I just adore this penny black stamp.  I have used it numerous times, and everytime I get a request to make a card with this stamp it just makes me smile :-)

Thank you for stopping by.
Have a great bank holiday weekend, and if you are going away I hope you have nice weather.
Big Hugs

Hello.  I hope you are all well, and staying safe.  Why, why, why people are causing trouble like this I dont think we will ever really know.  Anyway, here in South Lincolnshire we are away from all the riots, and the farmers are busy combining, while I am busy working and trying to get my commissioned cards all done in time.  The next thing on my list is to start making christmas cards, but I never seem enthusiastic in starting them when the sun is shining!!.  Is anyone else like that???.

Todays card is not a christmas card, but one my Nan asked me to make for her Great Grandson.
Its an 8"x8" card, that I matt and layered using DCWV paper from my stash. The LOTV image is stamped on card that I have die-cut using a spellbinders nestabilitie, and again matt and layered this.  The image was coloured in with promarkers (before spectrum noirs), and distress ink used around the edges.  I used a Martha Stewart punch to cut out the buttons, and then fed string through them.  I then die-cut his name and age out of chipboard, and coloured it.

Thank you for stopping by and saying hello.  Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
